[ARCHIVED] Old Tire Disposal

tire pile

Residents of Iron Mountain can dispose old tires free of charge between June 1 and December 1 this year.  Residents must deliver them to the Solid Waste Transfer Station (G.A.D.) behind the Tri-City Cinema in Quinnesec during their regular hours.  They are open Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 3:30pm, and 9:00am - Noon on Saturday.  The disposal is available to residents only, no business will be accepted.  Residents must show proof of residency at the location.  Proofs of residency accepted  are a Michigan ID with current address or a tax or utility bill with current address.

A hazardous waste drop off is also available at the same location to residents of Dickinson County for one hour each month.  Times are each second Tuesday of the Month between 9:00am and 10:00am.  Proof of residency will be required.

Household hazardous wastes are products that contain ingredients that are toxic, flammable, reactive or corrosive. If disposed of improperly, these products can be harmful to humans, wildlife and the environment. Proper disposal prevents household hazardous waste from entering the environment; damaging soil, groundwater and streams; or causing harm to people and animals.
