The City of Iron Mountain, Michigan, will accept applications for a Civil Service Examination for the position of Light Equipment Operator until 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2019, at the office of the City Clerk/Treasurer, 501 S. Stephenson Ave., Iron Mountain, MI 49801. The testing date will be Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of this examination is to establish a list of eligible applicants in the event positions arise in the Department of Public Works. The hiring of at least one full-time position is anticipated during the duration of the eligibility list. The wage rate for this position would start at $19.51/hour, with a base pay increase of $1.20 over the three-year probation period, and include full benefits. Applicant must be a high school graduate, reside within a 20- mile radius of the Iron Mountain City limits within six months from date of hire per Collective Bargaining Agreement, possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) permit at time of hire, possess a valid CDL Class “B” license with an endorsement for air brakes within 30 days of hire, and have experience consistent with the job description of a Light Equipment Operator.
