City of Iron Mountain, Michigan – The City of Iron Mountain is updating its Master Plan and one major component of this plan is community feedback. The City hosted a community visioning session in October but is seeking more detailed input from residents via an online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ironmtnmasterplan. The questions focus primarily on land-use based issues, for example, housing type and density, commercial development in the downtown and city, and infrastructure. The survey is completely anonymous, and the City welcomes constructive feedback on what it’s like to live in Iron Mountain and what they’d like to see improved.
Because residents have brainstormed a vision for what the City should look like in 10 years, more specific questions found in the survey will inform how the City can progress towards that vision. A summary of the results from the visioning session can be found on the project website where the City will be hosting documents related to the master plan and will be promoting any more meetings and/or event that arise related to this process. The project website is http://ironmountainmasterplan.org/index.html. On the “contact” tab on the website, you may also submit questions or comments regarding this project.
