The garden has experienced a period of under utilization in the last two seasons and the City is seeking citizens who have an interest in vegetable or flower gardening. The garden must receive more than a few gardeners to remain open in 2020.
The community garden gives citizens with limited space a secure place to grow a vegetable or flower garden.
Plots are 14’ x 20’ and available to residents and non-residents. The garden is gated with deer proof fencing, city water, and a locked shed for secure storage at the garden. The garden is self-serve. Gardeners provide their own tools, hoses, amendments, and labor. Twelve plots are available with preference to returning gardeners. Plot rental is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents to cover the use of water, plus a $20 deposit.
Interested gardeners can see the link to the community garden page below for more information or call the office at (906) 774-8530.
